Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services fulfills requests for the inspection and copying of records as provided for in Executive Regulation 27-01AM Requests under the Maryland Public Information Act. Please note that the Department of Permitting Services (DPS) does not have any records available prior toOctober 17, 1986with the exception of Well and Septic records which date back to 1943. However, DPS does not have records available for every well and/or septic system inMontgomeryCounty. The department’s archive is not comprehensive and does not include all records.
How to Request Records from DPS

In Montgomery County, call 311
Outside of Montgomery County, call 240-777-0311
Your request may require multiple departments to respond and MC311 is equipped to coordinate the response.
