WHAT IS A FINAL INSPECTION WAIVER?
A Final Inspection Waiver is an affidavit, signed by the new home purchaser acknowledging that the final building, electrical, and/or mechanical inspections have not been performed
prior to settlement, and that the building (or portion thereof) may not be occupied prior to an approved final inspection.
THE PURPOSES OF THE WAIVER ARE:

To allow the purchaser to go to settlement before the final inspection is completed
-
To notify the purchaser that he/she is responsible to make the house available for inspection
-
To make the purchaser aware that he/she is responsible for correcting any code violations that may exist
HOW DO I APPLY FOR A FINAL INSPECTION WAIVER?
The purchaser requests a copy of the "FINAL INSPECTION WAIVER" and mails or hand-delivers a copy to DPS before settlement.
WHAT WILL IT COST?
There is no cost.
WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER THE WAIVER IS GRANTED?
To make the house available for inspection before the permit expires and to correct any code violations
